Awakened by a reality where every day more food is wasted, in 2017 the SOCIAL FOODING solidarity project is born.
SOCIAL FOODING is a Foundation that devotes its effort to collect food surpluses from restaurants, hotels, (companies of the food industry in general) and, instead of throwing them away, destined to families who are hungry, through the NGOs that distribute them.
There are numerous studies that show that a third of the food produced is thrown into the rubbish bins. Only in Catalonia 35 kgrs of food per person per year is wasted, which is equivalent to all meals of one person for 25 days. The goal is to raise awareness, help and end the unnecessary waste of food and collect them when they are in the same conditions of consumption as the collaborating restaurants serve their customers. Guaranteeing the cold chain during the trip between restaurants and families who are hungry, working hand in hand with NGOs to achieve this purpose. The given foods, properly packaged and labeled, have the same quality and sanitary guarantees that those destined for sale. The process of SOCIAL FOODING is to Collect, Pack, Label, Transport, Distribute and Help.
