The energy bank is a legally constituted association that promotes energy saving and efficiency for the benefit of those in a situation of energy vulnerability. It does this through pedagogy and transformative solidarity.
The purpose of the bank is not to accumulate (neither energy nor resources) but to contribute to savings for redistributive purposes.
The energy bank aims to link two realities:
the problem of energy poverty (basic access to energy), improving the living conditions of people or families in a vulnerable situation in order to make them less energy dependent and providing training energy support, investment included, but not paying bills; i
climate change, minimizing waste of energy use.
We believe that there can be no families with problems of basic supply of electricity or heating, because it has impacts on their health and opportunities for social equality, and we want to promote savings and efficiency in solidarity for to a social benefit, in addition to the economic and environmental reasons, all of them important. In this way, we can all benefit from it.
