The Official College of Psychology of Catalonia (COPC) is a corporation under public law, with its own legal personality and full capacity to fulfill its purposes. This public law corporation is governed by these Statutes; by Law 13/82, of December 17, on professional associations of Catalonia; by Decree 329/83, of July 7, which approved the Regulation of professional associations of Catalonia, and by other community, state or autonomous legislation that affects it.

Exercise and Code of Ethics
The profession of psychologist can be exercised freely, individually or in association, and also through a working relationship with any public or private company or, where appropriate, through an official relationship. In any case, the professional performance must adhere to the ethical standards approved by the College. The exercise of the profession is based on the independence of professional judgment, adequate attention to the client and service to the community. The psychologist has the duty and the right to keep professional secrecy. In order to achieve these objectives, the Ethics Committee was established, which has the support of the legal advisor of the COPC.
