Surfrider Foundation Europe is a non-profit organization responsible for the protection and improvement of lakes, rivers, the ocean, waves and coastlines. It currently has more than 18,000 members and is present in 12 countries through its volunteer groups. Surfrider works in three specific areas in which the organization has acquired recognized expertise over the last 30 years: marine litter, water quality and health, coastal development and climate change. The Spanish delegation transfers Surfrider's values and mission to the territory. The team is made up of experts in the field of ocean conservation and protection who work together with the community (research centers, alliances and other entities/associations) and volunteer groups. The offices are located in Donostia-San Sebastián (Guipúzcoa) and there is a volunteer group in Barcelona.
