The PIMEC Foundation is a non-profit foundation for social purposes created in 2007. Structured in 4 areas: personal and business support, integration and diversity, community commitment and corporate solidarity. The foundation is located at the headquarters of PIMEC (acronym for Small and Medium Enterprises of Catalonia), a business association that currently holds, at European level, the vice presidency of SME United.
Encourages and supports small and medium-sized enterprises and the self-employed, enhancing their competitiveness through a commitment to sustainability (social, environmental and economic) and corporate social responsibility (CSR); we work to strengthen the social image of entrepreneurship as a creator of employment and engine of economic growth and social progress; and we fight against the social stigma of unemployment, driving the revaluation of a person’s internal talent beyond their age or previous professional failures. We work to respond to the roadmap of the 2030 Agenda and the global goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations for sustainable development in the framework of its action, achieving equal opportunities for all, so that no one is left behind. back.
The four ongoing programs we work with focus on a new way of understanding business and progress, where the key element is people, so our strategic focus is on the human being.
a) Personnel program ("Company and person"). We offer entrepreneurs and self-employed people in difficulty and other vulnerable groups (over 45, unemployed ...) a wide range of services, willing to provide a second chance: emotional support, to positively embrace the changing period; re-floating companies and making orderly closures (reorientation and support), providing tailor-made training, tools and business resources; financial advice and legal advice on the Second Opportunity mechanism present in Law 25/2015, of 28 July; mentoring with volunteer entrepreneurs and specialized organizations of the emppersona-second chance network; and business support, from business idea to consolidation, and advice on social microcredit.
b) Integration and diversity. Encourage employment, especially for groups at risk of exclusion, through the implementation of CSR, promoting equal opportunities and the right to inclusion. As part of our commitment and alignment with diversity, we have been members of the Spanish Diversity Charter since 2009.
c) Sustainable Challenge. We drive the company’s community commitment to the 2030 Agenda and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through environmental principles, with a circular economy approach and good CSR practices.
d) Corporate solidarity. We promote actions and activities that seek to educate, disseminate and promote the construction of a better social and sustainable business world, generating income for disadvantaged people.
