The Barcelona Bar Association is not a typical commercial entity, but rather a public law corporation, but that does not mean that it should be far from exercising good corporate social responsibility. It should be noted that among the purposes of the Barcelona Bar Association established by statute is that of "ensuring that the professional actions of lawyers respond to the interests and needs of today's society, as well as guaranteeing good practices and compliance with their ethical obligations". One of the clearest objectives is integration into the society where it operates, as well as guaranteeing scrupulous respect for ethical standards, which are found in the DNA of this corporation. In addition, article 7 of the Statutes also advances regarding the purposes, which must "(...) promote activities and provide services that benefit its members and the social function entrusted to it (...)" thus once again influencing this social aspect that must preside over any corporate responsibility strategy.
