Green tree throughout the year that exceed 20 meters. Its trunk is right and bark cover plates red. The crown is shaped umbrella. Its leaves acicular reach 8 to 15 cm deep green are arranged in pairs.
Flowers: In spring .Presenta male and female flowers on the same foot. Ovoid cones 8 to 15 cm long and mature in autumn of the third year. Produce pine protected by a shell very hard.
Uses: railway sleepers. Edible pine nuts are very popular, used in pastries.
