UIC Barcelona, as an entity dedicated to research and the transmission of knowledge, works on the task of searching for, disseminating and applying ethical alternatives to the socio-economic and environmental challenges facing society today. In line with the mission and vision of UIC Barcelona, the “Framework Document for Sustainability” was drafted in a participatory manner and approved as an institutional document. At UIC Barcelona, sustainability is addressed in a comprehensive way, working in a coordinated manner between the areas of sustainability policies, social commitment, environmental management, teaching and research through the Sustainability Commission. The Office of Cooperation and Sustainable Development is a service of UIC Barcelona whose main objective is to coordinate and promote actions for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda at UIC Barcelona. Through the UIC+Sustainable program, the Office of Cooperation and Sustainable Development organizes training and awareness-raising sessions on sustainability open to the entire university community, and continues to monitor the UIC Barcelona Strategic Sustainability Plan 2023-2026, as was done by the previous Office of Sustainability. Regarding the area of cooperation, it is responsible for studying and compiling information on cooperation projects currently being developed at and from the University, distributing calls for cooperation projects to the different managers - taking into account whether they are teaching projects, research (in collaboration with the VRIT project office) or social intervention - and promoting new cooperation and sustainability projects.
