Vozes is a life school for more than 500 children in Barcelona, in the districts of Nou Barris, Sant Andreu and Besòs, and since the end of 2015 in Madrid, in Vallecas and Carabanchel.
Born in 2005, Vozes is a music-social project that works with children and adolescents who cannot access the practice of music, and through it, they are offered the opportunity to fully integrate into society, without giving up to the quality and commitment that it demands.
Inspired by the national system of orchestras and choirs for children and youth in Venezuela, the Vozes project is led by Pablo González, a leading student of this system. In its beginnings the project worked through a children's choir, over the years, Vozes has created a structure of symphony orchestras of different formats, choirs and batucadas.
Vozes offers access to musical training and instruments free of charge to children from 3 years and without age limit, through 16 Vozes Spaces, between public schools, institutes, civic centers, neighborhood associations .... We work through music as the main way for social and intellectual improvement, obtaining results in children and adolescents beyond musicals (improvements in personal skills, school performance, the quality of family environment ..).
In recent years Vozes has grown due to the demand for a free activity, otherwise it would be almost impossible for children and young people to have access to an artistic-musical activity.
The key to the methodology lies in immersing the children from early stages of learning with the advanced orchestras, thus combining the group and individual classes of the instrument, with the foray into the first orchestra. This generates in children a much faster learning, and the excitement to learn and reach the level of the "adults".
