The Casal d'Entitats Mas Guinardó is a local municipal facility that promotes the social and associative life of the neighborhood by supporting the organizations and residents of the neighborhood and District of Horta-Guinardó. The dynamization and social and cultural promotion are the tools that allow the dissemination of social and sustainability values among the organizations and the citizens.

This farmhouse has given its name to the neighbourhood. It is a place with a lot of history. During the 17th and 18th centuries it served as a watchtower to direct the sieges of Barcelona. In 1652 the surrender of the city took place in this farmhouse. In 1894 Salvador Riera bought Mas Guinardó and in 1896 he did the same with Mas Viladomat, located at the end of Rambla Volart, which has now disappeared. In 1897 the urbanization of this entire territory was approved. In 1906 it became the headquarters of the Association of Owners and Residents of Guinardó, which has played a social role until now.

The Hort del Mas Guinardó is an initiative promoted by residents of the neighborhood and from outside it, located on one of the terraces of the Casal d'Entitats Mas Guinardó (recipient). The aim is to promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle based on cooperative work related to organic farming, raising awareness of the need to live in a more respectful way with ourselves and the environment through organic farming and therefore, what we eat.
Following these sustainability criteria, the urban garden is complemented by an insect hotel that allows the presence of those species that allow for the control of pests or harmful species in a natural way. Self-composting is also a key activity to obtain natural fertilizer from the users' vegetable and food waste. For this reason, we have a composter and a vermicomposter.
In addition, the Hort del Mas periodically organizes activities to disseminate its principles such as samples, exhibitions, workshops for children and adults, talks and presentations of books and projects related to agro-ecology, responsible consumption and sustainability.
